The aim of 4Play Lounge’s four foreign owners was to establish a club in Budapest that meets the standards of higher quality clubs in the UK and the USA. They wanted a safe, friendly and professional environment, where guests can enjoy themselves watching the most beautiful girls in town. And they made it happen.
It all started with a trip to Hungary’s Southern neighbours, Serbia. A group of friends went on a road trip and on the way there somebody suggested that they go to a strip club that night. However, having arrived they remembered that striptease bars in Eastern Europe aren’t necessarily the token of a long, healthy life so they decided against it. But they started talking about the idea of opening a strip bar in Budapest. A club where people can just go for a drink or two, have some fun, and return home safe and sound.
Back in Budapest, one of them made the acquaintance of the manager of a night club, who was thinking about quitting. They soon agreed and took over the place in the Buda area of the Hungarian capital. They redecorated the bar, and named it The Candy Shop, but some six months later they decided that they needed a bigger place and they moved to a huge club, a former disco in the outskirts oftown. What they had in mind there was a sports bar/strip club with a loungey feel to it, so they named it 4Play Lounge. However, this place only proved to be foreplay to the place that we know as 4Play today, as they had to come to terms with the fact that they were too far out of the city. So they packed up and moved once again. This time to a main avenue in the 8th district of Budapest, where they operated for about three years before they finally found a suitable home for the club, in a hipper, busier and safer part of town, the 6th district.
The owners are proud to say that they have accomplished most of their goals and created a Western standard club in the heart of Eastern Europe, where people can enjoy themselves in a friendly environment with the most exciting Hungarian dancers in town.
