Fashion Street is just a couple of minutes walk from Andrássy Avenue, and it’s the polar opposite. It’s modern and minimal, a favourite of the younger set. It’s filled with cafés, cool fast and high fashion shops and Hungarian designer stores.
Here, you can find the whole list of Fashion street’s shops, including Massimo Dutti, Hugo Boss and Nanushka.
Vörösmarty Square and Váci Street
Passing through Fashion street, you end up at Vörösmarty Square. If you take our advice, you will stop for a coffee and a slice of cake in Gerbeaud, one of the oldest pastry shops in Budapest, which is filled with elegance, glamor and tradition. When you’re ready to explore further, Vörösmarty Square and Váci Street (between the square and the Great Market Hall) are the shopping centers of the city. The line-up contains mostly fast fashion, but basically all the top brands are present. For example here, in Váci street 1, there is the biggest H&M of the world. You can find the full list here.
Shopping centers
Budapest has plenty of shopping centers if you want to stay inside. However, if we try to stay at the luxury end of the market, we would recommend Aréna Pláza. Aréna is one of the biggest shopping centers in the city, and it has a Peek&Cloppenburg store, which is a multi-brand shop with international fashion labels such as Armani Jeans and Calvin Klein. MOM Park is on the Buda side, and has stores like Furla, Michael Kors and Gant. MOM Park is a great place to go if you are not Hungarianas you can catch a movie in the original English in the cinema (most films are dubbed into Hungarian).
