Although most of the dancers at 4Play Lounge can speak English, imagine how impressed they would be if you were able to speak some Hungarian? In any country that you might visit, it’s seen as a sign of respect for a tourist to try to speak and understand the native language. We’ve put together a few stock phrases which will help you out when attempting to converse with the sexy strippers…
Hello (is it me you’re looking for?)
Lionel Richie couldn’t have said it any better, but he didn’t say it in Hungarian! To say hello to one person is ‘Szia’ – pronounce it (See-ah). To say hello to more than one person, it’s ‘Sziasztok’ – (See-ah-stock). Similar to ‘Ciao’ in Italian, this phrase can be used to say goodbye, too!
Thank You (for showing me your delightful body!)
The dancers in the best Strip Club in Europe really appreciate being thanked for their wonderful services, so thank you is ‘Köszönöm’, (Keu-seu-neum), or the shortened version for thanks is ‘Köszi’ (Keu-see). Obviously when people thank you for something, the polite retort in English is’You’rewelcome’.In Hungarianit’s’Szívesen’, (See-ve-shen).
I Don’t Speak Hungarian (only stock phrases to impress you!)
After attempting your pigeon Hungarian, the local ladies might think you’re fluent and it could get embarrassing. Let them know you can’t really converse competently, by using this phrase -‘Nem beszélek magyarul’, (Nem bes-el-ek ma-ja-rule). It will prevent torrents of Hungarian being thrown your way, while you stand and smile stupidly!
One Pálinka / beer / wine, please (bartender!)
To get served a little more quickly at the bar, try this one! ‘Kérek egy pálinkát / sört / bort’, pronounce it (Care-ek edge pah-link-cat/ shirt / bore-t)
Cheers! (ears!)
You don’t have to include the ‘ears’ bit, it would probably lead to all kinds of confusion! It’s a very sociable phrase to say when drinking, but in Hungary, make sure you look into the other person’s eyes when saying it (don’t stare them down though, you don’t want a fight!) It looks extremely complicated – ‘Egészségedre’, breaking it down into (Ag-esh-sheg-ad-reh). We’ll be impressed if you master that one!
I’m Vegetarian (no meat, please!)
Due to the sheer amount of meat dishes in Hungary, this one could keep your values intact, so ‘Vegetáriánus vagyok’ is pronounced (Ve-ge-tar-i-a-noush va-dj-ok) keeping the meat at bay!
Practice these phrases before you go to visit 4Play Lounge Gentlemen’s Club. The girls will be eating out of your hand!
