Festivals and Concerts
Budapest is known for its festivals during the summer starting in May. The Race Car and Air Show begin on 30 April- 1st May and it’s free! Formula One cars can be seen racing around Budapest’s city center during the day and in the afternoon the Air Show takes place over the River Danube where you can watch the Flying Bulls, Goldtimer Formation and an acrobatic flight.
The May Day festival takes place at City Park, where you can find craft stalls, an amusement fair, food and drink in abundance, as well as concerts featuring local pop stars entertaining you throughout the day.
Open-air concerts play in July and August with different styles of music from Jazz, Classical to Gypsy. It’s certainly a party atmosphere where anyone can join in!
Lupa Beach
To have a summer holiday experience you could visit Lupa Beach which is about 20 minutes from Budapest. There’s a beautiful white sandy beach where you can relax in the sun, have a cocktail and admire the Hungarian hotties as they strut their stuff across the sand!
Thermal Baths
There is nothing more relaxing than visiting one of the natural thermal baths in Budapest. Take it easy, have a drink and let the warm waters soak your stress away. If you’d rather go at night, you could go to a Sparty! It’s a party in the baths with lots to drink, music, and a wonderful atmosphere!
Danube Cruise
Book yourselves a cruise and watch the summer sun go down over the beautiful Danube River. You can sip a coffee, or even try some wine tasting on board as you take in the magical sights of the Parliament Building and the Castle Hill with the Royal Palace. Alternatively, how about a party on the boat? With music and dancing as you cruise down the river, a fantastic way to spend a summer evening!
