Vajdahunyad Castle
A visit to this historic site will leave you smiling. Originally built out of cardboard and wood, the building attracted so many visitors that the materials were upgraded to stone. The huge structure showcases periods of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Romanesque architecture, making it a great spot for historians.
Gyermekvasut
This is an unusual railway system in that it is operated only by children. Dating from 1947, it was used to train youngsters interested in driving trains. Today, kids between 10-14 years operate the line, which takes visitors through the beautiful, scenic countryside of Buda.
Koller Gallery
For those who love art, this gallery is a gem in the Castle District hidden away from the main tourist spots. A sculpture garden welcomes visitors, who will find many paintings, photographs and sculptures made by local people when they venture inside.
Michelin Star Restaurants
For the foodies, Budapest boasts 3 Michelin Star restaurants. Choose from Costes, Onyx and Borkonyha, all of which are very popular and have delicious food to match.
The House of Terror Museum
This museum demonstrates how fascism and communism has affected Hungary over the years. The building housed the headquarters of the Nazi party in 1940 and there are still cells inside where prisoners were kept.
