Just like you should not commit adultery, whistle to a waiter at a restaurant to get his attention, or put your feet up on the dinner table at your mom’s, there are things you should not do in a striptease bar. We spoke to several striptease dancers to find out how to behave and how not to behave at a strip club.
The fact that women who work at strip bars get paid for what they do should not give you a reason to behave inappropriately. After all, a female doctor gets paid for what she does, and you still don’t say, “Do you wanna a have a go at it baby, right here in the corner?”
Of course, we understand it’s hard to control yourself when you have the most desirable female body parts grinding and dangling inches away from your face during a private or table dance (especially if you already had a few drinks), but as sex is strictly forbidden in normal strip bars, it is absolutely useless to waste your – and the dancers’ – time and energy on trying to get them to have sex with you. Plus, begging and offering bigger and bigger amounts of money is just not sexy.
“It happens quite often that our guests want to have sex with us”, says a dancer at 4Play Lounge, who has been dancing for over ten years. “At first I let them know politely that it is against the rules here and that I would get fired right away if I did. Unfortunatley, not everyone understandsthis, butif they keep at it, I usually tell them what will happen to them if they don’t stop hassling me.”
Which is that their night at the club would end sooner than they planned. “Of course, one doesn’t need to behave formally at a strip club, but it sure feels nice if guests say ‘hi’ and ask us somewhat politely if they can buy us a drink or take us for a private dance”, she continues. “Just because we work at a strip club, we don’t like to be treated disrespectfully or talked down to.”
As we are not taught striptease bar etiquette at school (even though it is a 20 thousand year old profession), it is also good to know that if we buy a striptease dancer a drink, we are only supposed to enjoy her company until the drink is finished.
“The best guests are the ones who pay without hesitation, who keep to therules of the club, which we usually tell them about, if they are not aware”, says a girl, who has extensively worked abroad, and adds, “and those who come to a good strip club in Budapest should feel really lucky because the rules are a lot less strict here”.
It is also worth keeping in mind that a strip club is not an S&M dungeon. “Fortunately, for some reason, I am avoided by guests who have weird sexual tendencies, but I have heard about people who wanted to be spat on, spanked, and ridden like a horse or
a dog”, says a well-built, sporty looking girl, who adds, “and about people, who couldn’t control themselves and wanted to relieve themselves on the spot after a private dance. Of course, their night ended abruptly.”
“All in all, she concludes, when someone comes to a strip club, it’s best to behave like they would normally behave at a regular club and preferably not get too carried away by the fact that there are topless, or in some cases, after a stage show, naked women walking around them. It’s called a gentlemen’s club, after all. Try and act like one.”
